About our Yosemite National Park news

Latest news on Yosemite National Park, a natural wonder located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. The park spans over 748,000 acres and is home to some of the most unique and beautiful landscapes on Earth.

Yosemite National Park was first established in 1864 as a public trust land grant from the federal government. The park was originally created to protect the area's Giant Sequoias from logging. In 1890, the park was expanded to include the Yosemite Valley, which had been previously set aside as a national site. In 1916, the park was further expanded to include the Tuolumne Meadows and Hetch Hetchy Valley. Today, the park is managed by the National Park Service and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States.
