About our Willow Project news
Latest news on the Willow Project, an oil development project by ConocoPhillips in the coastal plain of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska, with plans to construct and operate up to 5 drill pads for a total of 250 oil wells, including access and infield roads, airstrips, pipelines, and a gravel mine. The project is expected to produce up to 600 million barrels of oil and 287 million tons of carbon emissions, with adverse impacts on Arctic wildlife and Native American communities. Despite opposition, the project is supported by Alaskan lawmakers from both sides and the Arctic Slope Regional Corporation.
