    About our Pep Guardiola news

Latest news on Pep Guardiola, the Catalan football coach and former player, currently managing Manchester City FC.

Pep Guardiola, born Josep Guardiola Sala in 1971, is widely regarded as one of the greatest football coaches of his generation. Guardiola spent the majority of his playing career with Barcelona as a deep-lying midfielder, and was part of Johan Cruyff's Barcelona 'dream team' which won the club's first European Cup at Wembley in 1992, as well as four La Liga titles.

After retiring as a player, Guardiola briefly managed Barcelona B before taking charge of the first team in 2008. With Barcelona, Guardiola oversaw a sustained period of domestic and continental success with players such as Lionel Messi, Xavi and Andres Iniesta within his ranks. In his first season, Guardiola led Barcelona to the continental treble of La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League, becoming the youngest manager to win the latter competition. He was named the FIFA World Coach of the Year in 2011 after leading the club to another La Liga and Champions League double in the 2010–11 season. Guardiola ended his four-year Barcelona stint in 2012 with 14 major honours, a club record.

Guardiola was appointed manager of Bayern Munich in 2013 and won the Bundesliga in each of his three seasons with the club.

In 2016, Guardiola joined Manchester City and helped the club dominate the landscape of English football, breaking numerous domestic records and becoming the first club to attain 100 points in a single season. Guardiola's City emulated city rivals Manchester United by winning the treble in 2022-23. In 2023-24, Manchester City won their fourth straight Premier League title to set a new league record for consecutive title wins.

Our Â鶹´«Ã½ feed provides comprehensive coverage of Pep Guardiola's management and coaching style, press conferences, and performance at Manchester City where in November 2024 he signed a new two-year deal to extend his stay to ten years.
