About our Haas F1 Team News

Latest news on Haas F1 Team: breaking updates on the American-led Formula 1 team, driver changes, race results, technical developments, and their journey in the pinnacle of motorsport.

Haas F1 Team brings American grit and determination to the glamorous world of Formula One. Led by Gene Haas, they are a force to be reckoned with on the grid. Follow their journey as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of the world's most prestigious racing series.

Founded in 2016 by American machine tools magnate Gene Haas, the Haas F1 Team burst onto the scene as the first American-led Formula 1 constructor in 30 years. Based in the motorsports hub of Kannapolis, North Carolina, the team took an innovative approach - maximizing the use of third-party suppliers and partnering with Ferrari for technical support.

This lean operating strategy paid dividends early on as Haas became the first F1 entry since 1960 to score points in their debut season. With Mexican driver Esteban Gutierrez and Frenchman Romain Grosjean behind the wheels in 2016, the minnow team's impressive debut set the stage for even greater ambitions.

Spurred by driver Kevin Magnussen's return and a refocused development effort on the VF-22 car, Haas emerged as a consistent midfield contender in 2022. Highlights included double-points finishes at the British and Austrian GPs, Magnussen's maiden pole at the Sao Paulo sprint race, and a best finish of 6th for Mick Schumacher in Austria.

2023 saw major changes with Nico Hulkenberg joining Magnussen and MoneyGram coming aboard as title sponsor. While consistency proved elusive, Hulkenberg's 2nd place qualifying at a wet Canadian GP demonstrated flashes of potential before the VF-23's extreme tyre wear issues hampered race results.

Looking ahead to 2024, Haas retains its driver lineup but undergoes a leadership shakeup with Guenther Steiner and Simone Resta departing. Can the team's new technical leadership unlock the VF-24's pace over a full season?
