Latest news on Mike Hodges, a British screenwriter, film and television director, playwright, and novelist. He began his career in television as a teleprompter operator and quickly progressed to producer and director. He is known for writing and directing films such as Get Carter (1971), Pulp (1972), The Terminal Man (1974), and Black Rainbow (1989). As a director, his films include Flash Gordon (1980), Croupier (1998), and I'll Sleep When I'm Dead (2003). In addition to his work in cinema and television, Hodges also wrote and directed plays and radio plays and published a novel and a collection of novellas. He received recognition for his work, including retrospectives at various institutions and the award of a Doctor of Letters degree from the University of the West of England. Hodges passed away in December 2022 at the age of 90.
