Ricky Gervais
Ricky Gervais is an English comedian, actor and director, best known for co-creating and starring in the critically-acclaimed UK sitcom, The Office. Born in 1961 in Reading, Berkshire, Ricky Dene Gervais has become one of Britain's most successful comedians and has won seven BAFTA Awards, five British Comedy Awards, two Emmys and a Golden Globe Award. Following the success of The Office in 2001, Gervais collaborated again with co-writer and friend, Stephen Merchant, on follow-up sitcom Extras, as well as the film, Cemetery Junction. Gervais went on to star in Hollywood films such as Ghost Town, The Invention of Lying and the Night at the Museum trilogy. Gervais has hosted the Golden Globes ceremony five times.
