    About our Piers Morgan News

Piers Morgan is an English broadcaster, celebrity and former newspaper editor, known for having outspoken views.

Born in 1965 in an East Sussex village, Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan began his media career in 1989 at The Sun newspaper. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch. The following year Morgan became the youngest ever editor of a UK daily national newspaper, when he moved to The Daily Mirror. In 2004 he was sacked for approving the front page publication of falsified photographs allegedly showing British soldiers humiliating Iraqi prisoners of war. Morgan moved into television, interviewing celebrities on his Life Stories series, appearing as a judge on Britain's Got Talent and America's Got Talent, and hosting a talk show on American news channel CNN. After returning to the UK from the US – where he won the Donald Trump-hosted Celebrity Apprentice – Morgan presented ITV's Good Morning Britain from 2015 to 2021, during which time his comments frequently generated publicity as well as controversy. He was a presenter for TalkTV (now known as Talk), hosting the program Piers Morgan Uncensored from 2022 to 2024, before leaving the network and moving the show to YouTube.
