    About our Geminids news

Latest news on the Geminids, a prolific meteor shower that occurs every year around 13 and 14 December. They are caused by debris from a celestial object known as 3200 Phaethon, which is thought to be a rocky asteroid with a 'rock comet' orbit. This makes the Geminids, along with the Quadrantids, the only major meteor showers not originating from a comet.

The Geminids can be seen from anywhere in the world, but they are best viewed from the northern hemisphere. They appear to radiate from the constellation Gemini, near the star Castor.
