Latest news on Petteri Orpo, a Finnish politician currently serving as the prime minister of Finland since 2023 and the leader of the National Coalition Party since 2016. He has previously served as Deputy Prime Minister of Finland, Minister of Finance, Minister for Agriculture and Forestry and Minister of Interior. On 2 April 2023, Orpo's National Coalition Party won the 2023 Finnish parliamentary election, with a plurality of 20.8% and winning 48 seats. On 27 April, it was announced Orpo would begin final negotiations to form a coalition government. The coalition of parties was confirmed on 15 June, with Orpo officially becoming prime minister on the 20 June.
