    The Miami Heat are an American professional basketball team based in Miami, Florida who compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Southeast Division.

    The Heat plays their home games at Kaseya Center, and has won three NBA championships since the franchise was founded in 1988. Their first championship came in 2006, with Dwayne Wade named as the Finals' MVP after the Heat defeated Dirk Nowitzki's Dallas Mavericks over six games.

    Their second and third championships came consecutively in 2012 and 2013 where the Lebron James-led Heat dispatched of the Oklahoma City Thunder over five games and the San Antonio Spurs over seven games, respectively.
