He started his career as a stand-up comedian and joined the cast of the sketch comedy show In Living Color in 1991. He later starred in his own sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show, from 1996 to 2001.
Foxx made his breakthrough as a film actor with his Oscar-winning performance as legendary singer Ray Charles in the biopic Ray (2004).
