Latest news on Steve Bannon, an American media executive, political strategist, and former investment banker who served as the Chief Executive Officer of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and as the White House Chief Strategist in the first seven months of the Trump administration.
Bannon worked as a banker at Goldman Sachs in the mergers and acquisitions department. He then left Goldman to start his own boutique investment bank, Bannon & Co. In 1998, he sold Bannon & Co. to French bank Société Générale for an undisclosed sum.
Bannon became involved with the Tea Party movement in 2009 and began working with conservative filmmaker Andrew Breitbart in 2010. He helped launch Breitbart News, a far-right news and opinion website, in 2011. When Breitbart died in 2012, Bannon became the Executive Chairman of Breitbart News.
Bannon became the Chief Executive Officer of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign in August 2016. He was credited with helping Trump to win the election. After Trump's victory, Bannon was appointed as the White House Chief Strategist. He left the White House in August 2017 and returned to Breitbart News.
Bannon has been described as a far-right political extremist. He has been accused of racism, sexism, and antisemitism.
