The situation was resolved peacefully with the help of negotiators and special response teams. No injuries were reported.
On Monday, September 4, 2023, the Department of Corrections ordered additional and more comprehensive water tests to be done at the prison, after complaints from inmates that the water was dirty and brown. The department also brought in 51,000 bottles of water for the staff and inmates.
