Latest news on Jamie Raskin, an American lawyer and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Maryland's 8th congressional district. He is a member of the Democratic Party and has served in this role since 2017. In Congress, Raskin is the chair of the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and the co-chair of the Congressional Freethought Caucus. He was also the lead impeachment manager for the second impeachment of President Donald Trump. Prior to his time in Congress, Raskin was a constitutional law professor at American University Washington College of Law and co-founded the LL.M. program on law and government and the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. In December 2022, Raskin announced that he had been diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and would undergo chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment.
