About our Austin Tice news

Latest news on Austin Tice, a freelance journalist and Marine veteran who disappeared in 2012 in Syria while on assignment. Tice had been reporting on the Syrian Civil War and the rise of the Islamic State for several media outlets. His last known location was in the city of Darayya, southwest of Damascus. Tice's family and the U.S. government believe he is alive and being held captive, but his whereabouts remain unknown. On 10 August 2022, US President Joe Biden 'we know with certainty that he has been held by the Government of Syria' and urged his release.
