Born in 1995, de Vries races under a Dutch licence and is one of the select few F1 drivers who have also won a Formula 2 championship.
De Vries made his Formula 1 debut at the 2022 Italian Grand Prix where he replaced the injured Alex Albon at Williams Racing. He produced a stellar drive and scored points in somewhat back-marker machinery, earning his place at AlphaTauri for the following year.
De Vries, however, was released by Scuderia AlphaTauri after the 2023 British Grand Prix. Following which, de Vries joined Mahindra Racing for the 2023–24 season of the Formula E World Championship.
