About our Mission: Impossible news

Latest news on Mission: Impossible, a series of American action spy films based on the television series of the same name created by Bruce Geller. The series is mainly produced by and stars Tom Cruise, who plays Ethan Hunt, an agent of the Impossible Missions Force (IMF), a covert team of operatives who carry out high-risk missions around the world.

The first film in the series, Mission: Impossible, was released in 1996 and directed by Brian De Palma. The film follows Hunt as he tries to clear his name after being framed for the murder of his team and the theft of a classified list of agents during a mission in Prague¹. He teams up with two disavowed IMF agents, Franz Krieger (Jean Reno) and Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames), and his former team leader's wife, Claire Phelps (Emmanuelle Béart), to find the real mole and stop an arms dealer named Max (Vanessa Redgrave) from selling the list to the highest bidder.

The film was a commercial and critical success, grossing $457.7 million worldwide and receiving praise for its action sequences, direction, and Cruise's performance. It also spawned a long-running franchise.
